For over twenty years, Amsterdam residents born in 2003 have been participating in the ABCD study: a long-term UMC research project that tracks their development from childhood to young adulthood. The goal: to discover why there are ethnic differences, for example, in high blood pressure or babies born too small. “We’ve been following participants since they were still in the womb.”
