For over a year, (former) UvA students and close friends Mante and Piet have been working on their houseboat, or rather, ship Maria. As a creative solution to the growing housing shortage, they bought a completely unfinished ship for 70,000 euros and started a massive project: fully renovating their ship into their own home. “The beginning was really a crisis.”
