Folia studies possibilities for separate medium for HvA

Now that the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) have a separate Board of Directors, Folia, together with the HvA, is studying the possibilities of creating separate media for each institution.

In 1948 Folia was founded as a magazine for the UvA. In 2011, a few years after the boards of both institutions merged into a so called ‘personal union’, Folia merged with the HvA’s Havana magazine, founded in 1996. Now that this personal union has dissolved, both institutions plan to go on with their own individual media.

The form, content and name of these media has yet to be determined. Folia editors are considering possibilities in close collaboration with employees and students of the UvA and HvA by means of surveys and focus groups. Those who wish to share their ideas can send an email to redactie@folia.nl.
